Answers to Common Questions
Before you book, here's what you need to know about conflict coaching, how it works, and what to expect. If you don't see your question here, reach out—I'm happy to talk through it.
What's the difference between conflict coaching and therapy?
Conflict coaching is focused, practical support for a specific conversation or conflict—you come in with a situation, we develop a strategy, and you leave with a plan. Therapy explores deeper patterns, beliefs, and ongoing issues over time. Both are valuable, and sometimes people benefit from both.
How do I know if I need coaching versus therapy?
If you're dreading a specific conversation or want to prepare for a difficult talk, coaching is perfect. If you're noticing patterns in your relationships or struggling with ongoing anxiety or communication issues, therapy might be the better fit. Many people start with coaching for immediate support and later explore therapy for deeper work. Learn more about how conflict coaching works.
What should I prepare for my first session?
Just come ready to talk about the situation. Think about who you're dealing with, what you're worried about, and what you'd like to accomplish. You don't need anything else—I'll guide you through the rest and help you clarify your thoughts during the session itself.
How quickly will I see results?
Many people feel clearer and more confident by the end of a single session. You'll leave with a concrete plan and language to use, which often makes a real difference in how the conversation goes. Some people book follow-up sessions to practice or process how things went.
Can I do sessions virtually, or do they need to be in person?
Sessions can be conducted virtually or in person, depending on what works for you. Virtual sessions are convenient and work just as well for conflict coaching—you get the same focused support and clarity.
What if I'm not sure what I want to say or how to say it?
That's exactly what coaching is for. We'll work through it together—you'll describe what's on your mind, we'll explore what you really want to accomplish, and then we'll develop the language and strategy to help you say it clearly and calmly. That's the whole point.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. Everything you share in a session is confidential, just as it would be in therapy. The only exceptions are if there's an immediate risk to safety, or if required by law.
How do I book and what's the process?
You can book directly online through the scheduling link on the Services page. Choose the session length that fits your needs—30 minutes for clarity, 60 minutes for deeper strategy work, or a Quick Insight for a professional edit of your message. After you book, you'll get confirmation with details about how to connect.
What if I need ongoing support after my session?
You can absolutely book additional coaching sessions if you want to continue working on communication or prepare for other conversations. If you're interested in deeper, ongoing support for relationship patterns or personal growth, I also offer individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy.
Do you work with couples, families, and individuals?
Yes. I offer conflict coaching and therapy services for individuals, couples, families, and also specialize in sex therapy. Whether you're preparing for a conversation on your own or working through relationship dynamics with a partner or family, there's an option that fits your needs. See all services.
